Diamonds may be the hardest minerals known to man, but even they require their fair share of TLC. To maintain their sparkle, diamonds should be cleaned on a regular basis, particularly if they are housed in rings or any piece that’s worn often.

Commercial preparations are available, but you can mix your own solution of warm water and a dash of mild dish soap. Soak your diamond for two minutes, then use a soft bristled toothbrush to gently clean the diamond and the setting. When finished, rinse in warm water (and please make sure your sink has a stopper if you run it under the tap). Then let your jewelry air dry on a soft cloth, making sure it is completely dry before wearing again.

General care should be routine for your diamond jewelry.
