  • Foliate brooch is glossed with colorful enamel exhibiting virtually no loss
  • Depicting a forested scene depicting a woman with wild auburn hair and a sweet cherubic face
  • Surrounded by two bunches of grapes and their leafy vines; symbolic virtues of the Christian faith
  • Grapes represent the Eucharistic Sacrament while the vines represent the Kingdom of God
  • Back is inscribed "Comus Golden Anniversary" to commemorate John Milton's poem 'Comus: A Masque'
  • Self dated 1906
