Thierry Hermés designed the original equestrian harness in 1837 for their primary clientele of horses and their riders! The design was coveted and remarked upon for its sleek sensibilities. As a result, it was no surprise when, in 1927, he made his first piece of jewelry in its likeness. The piece was the Filet de Selle bracelet, translating to 'saddle net' and featuring a large horsebit motif. Fast forward to today where many renditions of this motif have been celebrated at Hermés over the years, including the Filet d'Or necklace. Translating to 'golden net' this necklace encapsulates all the elegance of a refined minimalist design while still embodying the initial genius of the brands namesake, Thierry Hermés.
