Designed as two highly rendered swallow birds in flight with spread wings
Engraved with feather detail - each holding one end of a length of chain
Cable link with seven 2.5 mm seed pearl bead stations throughout
Translucent white in body color with moderate iridescence
Suspending fringe terminating with turquoise drops
Pear shaped cabochons are set in gold bezels
Opaque light greenish-blue in color
Completed by hinged pinstems with looped closures
Tested as 18 karat gold

This trend took flight once Queen Victoria gifted her own bridesmaids gold eagle brooches with pavé set turquoise and displayed clutching a pearl. The eagle is often replaced by swallows or doves, which poetically represent faithful longevity and peace.
